Lab Operating Systems
Interface between hardware and software

Work on the computer on a typical, large UNIX server as an operating system, application developer. On the thinclients (Raspberry PIs) students are allowed to do everything, i.e. also extend the Linux operating system as an administrator, program in parallel on the server with 72 cores and NVIDIA Tesla GPU.

 

Students will learn:

  • Structure, concepts and security of operating systems
  • Interprocess communication and synchronization, as well as network programming
  • Use of services of an operating system via the user interface
  • Unix command language and shell script programming
  • Linux kernel programming
  • Parallel programming
