Graduate Business Information Systems Interview with Melina Freisler
Melina Freisler, born in 1994, studied from 2015 to 2019 at the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences at the Campus Flandernstra?e in the Bachelor's degree program in Business Information Systems. Before that, she graduated from the Theodor-Heuss-Gymnasium in Mühlacker in 2012 and subsequently completed a voluntary social year at Lebenshilfe Pforzheim and an internship abroad in the USA.
Today, she works for Porsche AG at the Ludwigsburg site as a project coordinator in the Digital Sales department with the aim of offering customers a true Porsche shopping experience online. Customers should be able to discover and buy all Porsche products and services online - and do so easily from anywhere and at any time.

Melina, what memories do you have of Esslingen University?
In addition to the wonderful time in Esslingen with many great people, I especially remember the close contact with the professors. As a student at the Hochschule Esslingen, you are definitely more than just a registration number in the system!
What part of your studies has helped you the most in practice so far?
Actually, the hardest and most challenging tasks and exams have helped me the most in practice, regardless of the subject area. This has taught me how to properly structure and prioritize new tasks.
What is your best advice for today's students?
Be brave and take the opportunity during your studies to get to know different fields of work through internships and student jobs and to expand your network. And one more thing: Even if studying is sometimes difficult, keep at it and bite through it - it's worth it!

Graduate Computer Engineering Interview with Waldemar Wunder
Waldemar Wunder, born in 1984, studied from 2008 to 2012 at the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences at the Campus Flandernstra?e in the Bachelor's degree program in Computer Engineering.
Before obtaining his entrance qualification for university of applied sciences in 2008, he completed an apprenticeship as a mechatronics technician from 2004 to 2007 at Esselte Leitz GmbH & Co. KG, he completed an apprenticeship as a mechatronics technician. After his studies, Waldemar Wunder remained loyal to Esslingen University of Applied Sciences and the Department of Computer Science and Engieneering as a research assistant until February 2014. During his main activity with Prof. Reinhard Keller - supervising students in laboratory classes - he was still conducting research on the topic of "Intelligent Home".
Today, Waldemar Wunder is CEO of Codeatelier GmbH and homee GmbH and responsible for the respective business development. He is also a member of the advisory board of Steuerbot GmbH, a company of the Haufe Group.

Waldemar, what memories do you associate with Esslingen University of Applied Sciences?
I associate Esslingen University of Applied Sciences with a very broad insight into a wide range of topics and the positive interpersonal culture, which I found very pleasant during my studies. Even today, I am still in lively exchange with former fellow students.
Which part of your studies has helped you the most in practice so far?
The ability to face new challenges in a structured way and to be able to acquire the specific expertise needed to do so myself - that is the most important thing I learned during my studies at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences.
What is your best advice for today's students?
Not to make decisions for eternity from the outset, but to approach them much more experimentally. Be it in terms of what you will do later or how you will do it.

Graduate Business Information Systems Interview mit Nicole Siebold
Nicole Siebold, born in 1986, studied from 2015 to 2020 at the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences at the Hilltop Campus in the Bachelor's degree program in Business Information Systems.
Prior to that, she completed an apprenticeship as an industrial clerk after graduating from high school. After five years in this profession, Nicole Siebold went on a journey for two years. In 2014/2015, she earned her advanced technical college entrance qualification.
Today, Nicole Siebold is an SAP HCM Consultant at the City of Stuttgart, where she is responsible for redesigning the authorization concept and building, testing and implementing roles. She also supports and advises users in the use of SAP HCM. In addition to her job, Nicole Siebold is currently studying for a Master's degree in Business Information Systems at the distance learning university in Hagen since 2020.

Nicole, what memories do you have of Esslingen University of Applied Sciences?
We had a strong community from the first semester until graduation and are still in contact today. Since the first semester, I was part of the university café and got to know many pleasant tudy colleagues from other study programs. Also since the first semester I worked in project management in the university project "Autonomous Driving". That was even my first job after graduation.
Which part of your studies has helped you the most in practice so far?
Actually the internship semester - this is where theory is put into practice and you learn a lot of new things.
What is your best advice for today's students?
Network with each other, for example to exchange materials such as summaries and old exams. Form study groups so you can support each other. Get a job as a student worker: this experience is good for you and your vita. Do a semester abroad if possible. The university offers great opportunities here as well!

Graduate Applied Computer Science Interview with Hatice Yildiz
Hatice Yildiz, born in 1989, studied at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences at the Hilltop Campus from 2013 to 2018. First in the bachelor's program Software Engineering and Media Computing and then in the master's program Applied Computer Science. Prior to her university entrance qualification, she completed vocational training as a paralegal. After completing her master's degree, she worked as a research assistant in the Department of Computer Science and Information Technology in the area of media computing.
Today she works for Mercedes-Benz AG at the Sindelfingen site in the Quality Management department for Digital Services. She is responsible for ensuring the quality of services in Mercedes-Benz vehicles. In addition to maturity level assurance, she conducts customer-oriented usability and user experience tests to uncover potential usability problems at an early stage and ensure a positive customer journey.

Hatice, what memories do you associate with Esslingen University of Applied Sciences?
It was a fun, exciting and challenging time. In the course of my studies, whether in the Bachelor's or Master's program, I learned that it is always worthwhile to become active and to fight for what is important to me. Setting goals and achieving them - especially in a team! Fellow students became friends, university employees became colleagues and professors became guides.
What part of your studies has helped you the most in practice so far?
The practical exercises during my studies, such as laboratory exercises, extensive projects, summer/winter schools. Through these exercises and further education opportunities, I was able to prepare myself perfectly for my actual professional life. Especially through the research project in the master's program, which lasted over two semesters, I was able to further develop the knowledge and skills I had already acquired and successfully apply them in a team, under the guidance of professors in a current research topic.
What is your best advice for students today?
My time abroad in the USA (semester abroad at Kettering University, Flint, Michigan) and Japan (internship abroad at Mitsubishi Fuso Bus & Truck Corporation, Tokyo) represent a particularly experiential time for me. My advice to all students is to take the opportunity to think outside the box and go abroad. Always try to challenge yourself, work in a team and expand your network.

Martina Glock, born in 1995, studied from 2016 to March 2020 at the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences at the Flandernstra?e Campus in the Bachelor's program in Business Information Systems.
After graduating from high school in 2014, Martina Glock initially studied computer science at the University of Stuttgart. In 2016, she decided to change her course of study and start studying Business Information Systems at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences in the winter semester 2016/17.
Today, Martina Glock is a project manager at msg services ag's Leinfelden-Echterdingen location, where she is responsible for managing, planning and implementing various IT projects.

I associate Esslingen University of Applied Sciences with a very exciting and instructive time as a student. In addition to the many friendships that were made, I also like to think back to the cooperation with fellow students, lecturers and professors.
Which part of your studies has helped you the most in practice so far?
My studies at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences were very practice-oriented. As a result, I was already able to learn basic building blocks of practice during my studies.
What is your best advice for students today?
Enjoy your time during your studies and use it not only to study and collect grades, but also to socialize with fellow students. Studying together is more fun!

Graduate Computer Engineering Interview with Dr.-Ing. Manuel Stüber
For more than 100 years, Esslingen University of Applied Sciences has been training leaders for business, science and society.
This time we introduce Manuel Stübler, born in 1987. He studied from 2008 to 2011 at the Esslingen University of Applied Sciences at the Hilltop Campus in the Bachelor's program in Computer Engineering. He then completed his master's degree in information systems engineering at the University of Ulm and went on to earn his doctorate in information systems engineering.
Manuel Stübler is currently a product owner at Robert Bosch GmbH in the field of high-precision maps for automated driving. He is primarily responsible for planning and prioritizing the upcoming work tasks in a Scrum team. He shares this role with a colleague so that he can look after his daughter four mornings a week.
