Study Program Engineering Education Information Technology-Electrical Engineering (B. Sc.)
The study program Engineering Education Information Technology-Electrical Engineering opens up two professional fields. Competence in engineering as well as in engineering pedagogy is imparted. Due to the parallel teaching of different competences, a professional activity as an engineer as well as a teacher in the field of information technology and electrical engineering can be taken up.
The engineering portion corresponds very closely to the courses taught in the Computer Engineering program with a focus on cyber-physical systems. This portion corresponds to about 85% of the course content. The engineering pedagogical part is carried out in cooperation with the Ludwigsburg University of Education. This part comprises about 15% of the study contents. The engineering pedagogical competencies taught are educational science, vocational pedagogy and subject didactics.
In addition, the acquisition of practical work experience is an important component of this study program, not only in engineering science but also in engineering pedagogy. Through the integrated school internship, a part of the admission requirements for the preparatory service at secondary schools is already acquired during the bachelor's program. The bachelor's degree in engineering pedagogy at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences entitles students to enter both engineering and pedagogical master's programs. The master's degree program in vocational education/engineering can be continued, for example, at the Ludwigsburg University of Education.
