Module Catalogue Engineering Management (B.Eng.) (for current students)Professional fields - interesting & varied
Your strength as an engineering management graduate is your ability to produce joined-up, strategic thinking which focuses on the interrelationships within the process. You will be working at the interfaces between engineering and business administration for industrial and service companies in:
Engineering Management students form the interface between engineering and management and do not have to opt for only one of these fields. You are familiar with Management and Technology and also with Digitisation and Sustainability. This makes you and the know-how you have acquired particularly valuable assets for any company.
Some of the strengths of the Engineering Management programme on the campus in G?ppingen are the emphasis it puts on the issue of sustainability and the four specialisations it offers. One of the highlights is the continuous development of a community of Tiny Houses on its G?ppingen campus, which serve as real-world laboratories for laboratory-based courses and also for long-term experiments on a scale of 1:1.
The team of professors at Esslingen focuses on the latest developments and providing the students with sound knowledge of the fundamentals. This means students on the Engineering Management programme are able to acquire the knowledge base they require. At the same time, the focus on sustainability and the lively exchange of ideas and close collaboration with companies in and around Stuttgart ensure that the topics taught always keep pace with the times. Universities of applied sciences differ from conventional universities in that their teaching is organised in small study groups and has a very high level of practical relevance. Laboratory-based projects and direct contact with professors are a normal part of the curriculum.
To succeed on the practical level you first have to learn the foundations and acquire theoretical knowledge. Esslingen University of Applied Sciences offers you a practical semester and hence an exciting opportunity to use what you have learned and put your knowledge to the practical test. You establish contacts to important people in industry and develop opportunities to get a foothold on the career ladder. The projects and seminars in our state-of-the-art laboratories provide you with yet more practical experience. In our interdisciplinary projects, you team up with other students and supervising professors to develop pioneering products and inventions from the initial idea through to realisation.
The Engineering Management degree programme is based on our campus in G?ppingen, approx. 20 minutes from Esslingen. G?ppingen is ideal for nature lovers and also offers a wide variety of cultural events. A whole range of sporting opportunities are also available. These include a free programme of sports including volleyball, football and basketball. If you play a musical instrument, you can become part of the music scene at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences. We have an orchestra and bands, and you are welcome to come along to our rehearsals, which are being held online at the moment. The StudiTicket (VVS) makes it easy to reach all the attractions to be found in and around Stuttgart. Many international companies have their headquarters here, and this provides outstanding opportunities for internships, visits and final projects.
One of the highlights of the Engineering Management Bachelor’s programme can be the opportunity to take part in a programme abroad. Our exciting options include spending some time at our partner universities around the world. At the ITESM in Mexico or Tongji University (CDHAW) in China, you can also complete a double degree, which means you are awarded not only a Bachelor’s degree from Esslingen but also the degree awarded by the partner university.
