Mechanical Engineering (B.Eng.)

General Information

Mechanical engineering is the key engineering discipline when it comes to the development, design and manufacture of capital and consumer goods. It is thus one of the key technologies of our modern industrial society. The broad-based training offered by Esslingen University of Applied Sciences concentrates on the fundamentals and thus ensures you are well prepared for this task and the challenges of life-long learning. Experienced lecturers teach in small study groups to provide you with everything you need to get a successful foothold on the career ladder. The study programme is very practice oriented and consolidates the theoretical knowledge with practicals in modern labs, project work in groups, and the practical semester spent working in industry.

After you have learned the engineering and natural science fundamentals of mechanical engineering in the first three semesters, you select one of two specialisations according to your personal interests: Development and Design or Development and Production.

On completing your Bachelor of Engineering in Mechanical Engineering, you can take a continuation Master programme in Resource Efficiency in Mechanical Engineering (M.Sc.) or Design and Development in Automotive and Mechanical Engineering (M.Eng.).

One degree programme - two degrees: the Mechanical Engineering degree programme offers students the opportunity to obtain a double degree in cooperation with universities in Finland or in Mexico.
