Study degree programme about the mobility of the future
If you want to work on the automotive systems of the future today, this is your study degree programme.
Autonomous driving, electromobility and intelligent mobility concepts determine the strategies of the automotive industry and transport policy. The future-oriented Bachelor Vehicle Systems prepares you optimally for these challenges.
Study contents
In addition to the theoretical fundamentals, the degree program focuses in particular on topics in the field of electronic vehicle systems, e-mobility and digitalization.
During the first three semesters, the fundamentals of mathematics, information technology, electrical engineering, electronics and control engineering are taught in conjunction with basic knowledge of automotive engineering.
In the second part of the programme, you will familiarise yourself with the structure and operation of modern electronic automotive systems. This encompasses structure, actuator and sensor systems, or the simulation and software functions of automotive systems.
In the 4th and 6th semesters, you choose four compulsory elective modules from a comprehensive catalogue of modules. These modules cover the classical fields of study for automotive engineering. In addition modules on new mobility and powertrain, artificial intelligence and machine learning are also offered.
In the last part of the programme focuses on:
- autonomous driving,
- new mobility and powertrain concepts
- networked vehicles.
Career prospects
After graduation, graduates have the best career prospects because they have learned how to work in an interdisciplinary way, develop creative solutions, and have a plan from networking to digitalization. And these are precisely the people who are sought after to shape mobility innovatively and sustainably or to drive autonomous driving forward.
Or you can deepen the topics in a more advanced master's program
Postgraduate Studies
The specialist knowledge you gain while studying for your Bachelor degree can be enhanced in the continuation Master programme in Automotive Engineering. Moreover, the Master programmes in Applied Computer Science (Autonomous Systems) and Automotive Systems at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences offer further opportunities to broaden your knowledge.
The Esslingen University added a further degree programme to its portfolio in the winter semester 2019/20 - the part-time Master degree in autonomous driving.
