Climate Change Management
Our climate change management aims to reduce greenhouse gas emissions with the long-term goal of becoming a climate-neutral university. To this end, Esslingen University is developing an integrated concept for climate action. The first step is to analyse its current greenhouse gas emissions and then work out possible ways of reducing emissions, develop concrete measures and consolidate them with its existing climate actions.
The concept for climate action is being developed as part of the KSI project (Climate change management to develop an integrated climate action concept at Esslingen University of Applied Sciences (novel project)”, which is funded by the National Climate Initiative of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action (BMWK).
About the project
Duration: 1 April 2023 - 31 March 2025
Funding Reference: 67K21865
Project sponsor: Zukunft - Umwelt - Gesellschaft (ZUG) gGmbH
Since 2008, the German government has initiated and funded numerous projects which contribute to reducing greenhouse gas emissions as part of its National Climate Initiative. Its programmes and projects span a broad spectrum of activities designed to mitigate climate change: from the development of long-term strategies to concrete support and intensive funding measures. This diversity is a guaranteed source of good ideas. The National Climate Initiative helps anchor climate action on the local level. It benefits consumers as well as businesses, local authorities and educational institutions.
